How to track your period with Cycles
Cycles takes the guesswork out of your menstrual health, with everything you need to know right in the palm of your hand.
Why should I track my period?
If you’re new to period tracking, you might be wondering why you should start. Whether you’re getting your first period, planning a pregnancy, or entering menopause, cycle tracking is the best way for you to take control of your reproductive health!
- Keeping track of your cycle helps you understand your flow. Ruined underwear and missed pills become a thing of the past when Cycles does the remembering for you.
- Logging observations about your body and mood helps you keep track of similarities or differences within your cycle. Your logs are simple and easy to access, making them the perfect companion for any doctors appointment.
- Keep up to date on changes in your cycle. If you’re planning a pregnancy, quickly view your fertile days, ovulation day and log important information, such as ovulation tests and basal body temperature.
- Easily spot changes in your cycle over the upcoming days and months, allowing you to plan vacations, date nights and other events, all with your cycle in mind!
How do I start tracking?
When you download Cycles, we’ll ask you to log the dates of your last period and average period length. This will help the app calculate your next period. If you don’t know, no worries! We’ll help you figure it out.
The best part is, Cycles automatic tracking will get even more accurate the more cycles that you log.
What will my cycle show?
Red dots indicate your period days (a dark red indicates a heavy flow log, a lighter shade means light flow!).
Striped red days indicate your predicted future period days.
Green dots represent your predicted fertile days, and the day of your predicted ovulation is in blue.
Finally, yellow dots represent your PMS days.
Discreet labels around your Cycle remind you of these phases, but can be easily turned off for an even more discreet cycle view.
What about irregular periods?
Not all periods arrive like clockwork, but tracking your cycle can help you feel more prepared by recognising your symptoms. Whether your period arrives earlier or later than predicted, editing the start date is a one-step process, directly from your cycle view.
If your period arrives early, simply tap 'Log Period' in the centre of your cycle and hit 'Today'. The app will do the rest!
If your period is late, Cycles won't log the start it until you let us know.
